GranNan

Grandson number 5 helping Nana out with another blog

I have free reign so I thought I’d write a quick message about how much Nana loves to be a Gran-Nan

Her self appointed term in place of great-grand mom. Nana is definitely a GRAND NANA

She has two wonderful great grandchildren and more are on their way! Stella and Carter are both wonderful blessings to Nana. If as Proverbs 17:6 says “ Grandchildren are the the crown of the aged“ then great grandchildren must be the jewels on the crown

Nana loves her children and her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and she prays for us all every day

thank you Nana for all of your love and prayers

love you

David Comes to Town

I came down to visit mom on Mother’s Day today. What a nice visit we have had. I am afraid I have talked her to her limit though her hands are too tired to type any more. One story she asked me to pass along…
Hannah turned 11 yesterday May 8 2010. For her party she decided to have her friends forgo bringing presents and bring CASH for an ALS Society donation. To up the ante we decided that everyone at the party could give Hannah a “PIE IN THE FACE” and that would be part of the process of raising the money for ALS. So as parents came some wanted to join in too, and then her brothers Bryan and Bradley wanted to participate all had to poney up CASH for the donation, all in all $200 was raised for the ALS Society. Way to go Hannah!

Mom loves stories, and mom loves teasing, so to bring these two passions together Mom has decided to tease Ronda with a game of “Remember When”. For 6 months now everytime Ronda comes to town and often on Facebook Ronda has been trying to guess “Mom’s Favorite Memory of her” to date Ronda has made probably 30 or more guesses never getting it just right. So tonight Mom finally tells Ronda that she has gotten close but not close enough. Maybe she should until they get to Heaven together to share the memory. Nice mom very nice.

That’s all for tonight gotta put our verse of scripture on the wall.

See You next time.

New Toys!!!

Mom gets new wireless mouse and keyboard and all hooked up to the flat screen TV!….gets one thumbs up, the highest award she gives!  Note that while Spencer mugs for the camera, mom has a determined intensity to facebook and check out the blogs of her children and grandchildren to keep informed and communicate with friends and family!   Special thanks to Matt who assembled the technology and made it simple enough for John to install and to Dad who persevered for 26 minutes with the Bell Canada telephone assistance from San Palo South America (really!)    and to Abby who is the author clearly of mom’s facebook password…nice choice Abby!

We had a great afternoon and evening including watching the 1999 version of My Favourite Martian together!  Love ya mom!

Grandson’s Visiting

Today I get my crack at writing for nana’s blog. I’m back visiting from California only to find that nana has become this blogging fiend. More than a thousand visits and growing, truly a testament to God’s working through her. This past weekend she made it out to the swing for some time in the sun, a great way to celebrate Easter and another point of thanksgiving. This was nana’s first Easter not in church, that’s breaking a streak of 69 years! Still had a great time with the weather and reflecting on the grace of God demonstrated in Jesus’ resurrection. She watched the 2004 Easter service from Harvest Chicago, James spoke on nana’s favourite verse – Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” A great reminder of God’s faithfulness for this Easter.  Nana loves Hebrews chapter 12, it was my first sermon that she saw; it was a great encouragement to have her sitting front-row. She actually mouthed the passage along while it was being read at the beginning of the serivce! At this point I will be honest and note that nana is actually writing this blog. My inability to write the blog has been graciously overcome by her patience. So, lots to be thankful for but still much to pray for. God Bless.

How poor were you mom?

When I was a little girl in New Brunswick, we were ssssoooooo poor, we ate ketchup sandwiches for the one meal we got to eat.  I grew up in town, but spent some time near the Bay of Fundy.   My dad had 11 brothers and sisters and my mom’s sister married one of my dad’s brothers!   Even then God was watching over me as I was quite ill as a child with Rheumatic Fever!   This is a picture of my aunt!

Still Trusting God, my handsome first born says my Blog now has 1,200 plus visitors!

 Hope it encourages you!

Psalm 72:8 KJV

8He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

Glad to be born in the Dominion of Canada!

Jesus bids us Shine!!

Jesus bids us shine with a clear, pure light,
Like a little candle burning in the night;
In this world of darkness, we must shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine

Great visit today with mom, showed her some pictures from my bb camera from the weekend, sang her lots of songs and she liked this one!   The picture too.    Great Grand Daughter Stella May MacDonald!!!

Stats on mom’s blogs show were approaching 1000 visits…she thought that was pretty cool too.   Still working on linking her testimony to the blog, our next priority!!  Mom on Youtube, talking about how Jesus found her and saved her and set her life on an amazing path, not always an easy or simple way, but a great way, Jesus way!   So we sing!!

Colossians 2

1For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, 2that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments. 5For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ

Mom’s Making me Blog again.

I came down to see Mom again last night.  Nice to see her up and around again.  Her hearing is much improved over the last time I was here and her ears wer packed tight with cotton.  Last night she slept soundly through the night.  When I got up this morning she was still sleeping soundly, so nice to see her enjoying a good rest.  This morning she is redecorating and moving stuff around.  THE BOSSES FINGER is out and working hard.

Mom’s spirit astounds me and all who are around.  “The Joy of the Lord is my Strength”  defines my mom.

Love you very much mom.  Have a great day.  Ronda or I will be down again next week.

David (the sweetheart)
